Welcome to the Urban Flea Market 2018 / 2019 Fall & Winter Season. We’re excited that you will be joining us for Urban Flea Market this season!

Our Sunday Indoor market dates are: November 11, 2018, December 9, 2018
January 13, 2019, February 10, 2019, March 10, 2019, April 14, 2019

Following is important event information that is vital for your success as a vendor. You must read and follow all information and rules to participate as a vendor at the Urban Flea Market.

  • Location: The Gateway (12 S Rio Grande Street, Salt Lake City) on the north end of the mall (across from the fountains) Vendor Entrance on 100 South / 450 West
  • Vendor Load-In Time: 7:30am-9:00am the morning of each market (Saturday early load in 7:30-9:00am also available). The vendor entrance closes at 9AM.
  • Event Time: The Urban Flea Market is open to the public at 10:00am and will end at 4:00pm.
  • Vendor Load-Out: 4:00pm – 5:45 pm. All vendors must be off the property by 6:00 PM

 

VENDOR INFORMATION

  • ALL vendor spaces are “Open Market’ spaces and are assigned upon arrival by a UFM staff member. Vendors will be assigned an indoor space on a first come, first served basis. We will do our best to accommodate your preference of space depending on availability.
  • Reserved/pre-assigned spaces may be booked/paid online but reserved/pre-assigned space selection is not available online. We recommend selecting your pre-assigned “reserved” market spaces in person at the market or let us select best available space for you. Reserved/pre-assigned spaces are only available to vendors that book their spot for the entire season and are $85 per market date. The Urban Flea Market reserves the right to adjust/change market buildings, market configuration and vendor space configuration at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Reserved vendor spaces will be reassigned at that time. Vendors with Reserved spaces will have first pick of any new configuration.

Each vendor space is approximately 100 - 120 square feet depending on configuration limitations of the venue.

  • You must provide your own tables, chairs, displays, and items to sell. (if you bring a tent, the maximum tent size allowed will be 10'x10')
  • Vendor spaces will not have access to power.
  • There will be many garbage and recycling bins at the event. Please recycle if possible! Garbage and recycling bins will be clearly marked. Please do not throw away any glass. A recycling bin for brown, clear and green glass will be located at the event information booth.
  • We encourage all vendors to bring change for your buyers – ones, fives, tens and quarters. Vendors are responsible for all transactions with buyers. There is an ATM machine at the market.
  • If you can't attend a market and need to transfer your space to someone else, you must notify the Urban Flea Market 48 hours prior to the market with the name, email address and phone number of the person using your space. All vendors must be approved, and it is required that all participants receive theVendor Rules & Guidelines before selling any items at the market. No refunds are available. 
  • The following items and services are NOT allowed at the Urban Flea Market: Food or edible items (this includes anything that can be consumed - bottled beverages, candy, prepackaged items, etc...), weapons, animals (except for the featured animal rescue), drug paraphernalia, illegal or questionable items, mass produced items, physical or cosmetic services (massage, piercing, teeth whitening, etc...), promotional goods and services that do not fit the flea market, vintage, yard sale style, handcrafted market model. If you bring any of these items, you will be asked to leave the market. The Urban Flea Market reserves the right to prohibit the display and sales of any items deemed inappropriate for the market by the market management or any items that are illegal/prohibited by law.
  • All vendors and vendor merchandise are subject to review and approval by the Urban Flea Market to maintain the format of the flea market business model. The Urban Flea Market reserves the right to refuse any vendor application or merchandise.
  • Food Trucks and carts are not permitted to book online. Please send an email to  to apply.
  • No vehicles, trailers, vintage campers or trucks are permitted on the sidewalks, or inside building. 
  • Active Loading/Unloading in the loading zones only. Vehicles must display loading permit in front driver's side window. YOU MUST MOVE YOUR VEHICLE ONCE YOU HAVE UNLOADED, NO PARKING IN LOADING ZONES.
  • NO SMOKING IN THE MARKET!  Smoking is prohibited in the market buildings.
  • VENDORS MUST NOT OPEN EMERGENCY EXIT DOORS DURING MARKET HOURS UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.
  • The Urban Flea Market will happen rain or shine! No refunds available.

 

VENDOR CHECK-IN & LOAD-IN

  • Vendors must select load-in day (Saturday or Sunday)  prior to each market. Please arrive no later than 9AM on your selected load-in day to insure easiest load-in. The vendor entrance closes at 9AM.
  • Vendors may start lining up at 7:00 AM on 100 South at Rio Grande Street (450 West - north side of street) at main vendor entrance. Please watch for directional signs.
  • All Vendors must be check in at the main entrance (450 W 100 S) before proceeding to the load-in area.
  • Vendors will be directed north on Rio Grande Street (450 West) to the market building entrances.
  • Please be patient and carefully follow all verbal instructions to help everyone load in effectively.
  • Vendor cars will line up single file unless instructed otherwise.
  • Vendors must load in all merchandise, then move vehicles from the market loading zone to make room for the next vendor in line. DO NOT PARK IN THE LOADING ZONE. VENDORS MUST MOVE VEHICLE OUT OF LOADING ZONE WHEN FINISHED UNLOADING. Vehicles must display loading permit in front driver's side window.
  • Vendors are not permitted to set-up their spaces UNTIL AFTER their vehicles have been moved from the loading zone. 
  • ALL market space vehicles WITH trailers will be charged an additional $40 at each market if not booked in advance, Fee is due in CASH when you check in. Please pre-register all trailers to avoid this extra fee. 
  • All pre-registered vendors will receive a Utah State Tax Form at their first check-in of the winter season. They will be due December 21, 2018. Beginning January 2019 Tax Forms will be issued and you will recieve your 2019 Tax Form first check-in  in 2019. 
  • If you signed up through the website or at the market, please bring your receipt.

 

SATURDAY LOAD-IN

  • Vendors must select load-in day (Saturday or Sunday) prior to each market. Please arrive no later than 9AM on your selected load-in day to insure easiest load-in. The vendor entrance closes at 9AM.
  • Vendors may start lining up at 7:00 AM on 100 South at Rio Grande Street (450 West - north side of street) at main vendor entrance. Please watch for directional signs.
  • ALL vendors must check in at the main entrance (450 W 100 S)
  • ALL market space vehicles WITH trailers will be charged an additional $40 at each market if not booked in advance, Fee is due in CASH when you check in. Please pre-register all trailers to avoid this extra fee.
  • Vendors will be directed north on Rio Grande Street (450 West) to the next vendor check-point.
  • Vendor cars will line up single file unless instructed otherwise and wait for direction to proceed.
  • Vendors will now be assigned their market building door (A, B, C, D) for load-in. Please be patient and carefully follow all verbal instructions to help everyone load in effectively.
  • Move forward as directed and pull vehicle into a vendor loading spot as directed by market staff.
  • Vendors will now be assigned their indoor vendor space, follow the directions of market staff in your assigned building.
  • Vendors may load in all merchandise, tables, etc. and then move vehicles from the market loading zone. DO NOT PARK IN THE LOADING ZONE. VENDORS MUST MOVE VEHICLE OUT OF LOADING ZONE WHEN FINISHED UNLOADING. Vehicles must display loading permit in front driver's side window
  • Vendors must load in all merchandise, then move vehicles from the market loading zone to make room for the next vendor in line. 
  • Vendors are not permitted to set-up until their spaces after their vehicles have been moved from the loading zone.
  • Saturday Set-up ends at 9:45AM.
  • All market buildings locked at 10AM and will be secured overnight.

 

SUNDAY LOAD-IN

  • Vendors must select load-in day (Saturday or Sunday) prior to each market. Please arrive no later than 9AM on your selected load-in day to insure easiest load-in. The vendor entrance closes at 9AM.
  • Vendors may start lining up at 7:00 AM on 100 South at Rio Grande Street (450 West - north side of street) at main vendor entrance. Please watch for directional signs.
  • ALL vendors must check in at the main entrance (450 W 100 S)
  • ALL market space vehicles WITH trailers will be charged an additional $40 at each market if not booked in advance, Fee is due in CASH when you check in. Please pre-register all trailers to avoid this extra fee.
  • Vendors will be directed north on Rio Grande Street (450 West) to the next vendor check-point.
  • Vendor cars will line up single file unless instructed otherwise and wait for direction to proceed.
  • Vendors will now be assigned their market building door (A, B, C, D) Placement for indoor is spaces are accommodated on a first come, first served basis. Please be patient and carefully follow all verbal instructions to help everyone load in effectively. We will do our best to accommodate your preference of indoor space depending on availability.
  • Move forward as directed and pull vehicle into a vendor loading spot as directed by market staff.
  • Vendors will now be assigned their indoor vendor space, follow the directions of market staff in your assigned building or in the plaza.
  • Vendors may load in all merchandise, tables, etc. and then move vehicles from the market loading zone. DO NOT PARK IN THE LOADING ZONE. VENDORS MUST MOVE VEHICLE OUT OF LOADING ZONE WHEN FINISHED UNLOADING. Vehicles must display loading permit in front driver's side window
  • Vendors must load in all merchandise, then move vehicles from the market loading zone to make room for the next vendor in line. 
  • Vendors are not permitted to set-up until their spaces after their vehicles have been moved from the loading zone.
  • All vendors must be set-up and ready to sell by 9:45am. The market opens to the public at 10:00am.

 

VENDOR VEHICLES & PARKING

  • One vendor car per vendor space will be allowed to load in at a time at the market loading zone. Additional vehicles will be directed further up the street to load in.
  • VENDORS MUST MOVE VEHICLE OUT OF LOADING ZONE WHEN FINISHED UNLOADING. NO PARKING IN LOADING ZONE.
  • Indoor parking is available for a standard sized cars, vans and trucks (under 7' clearance) Oversized trucks and trucks with trailers can park on surrounding neighborhood streets or as directed by market staff at the event. Parking is abundant and free on the streets on the West Side of the Gateway. If you park on the street you must abide by the parking signs such as handicap, loading, permit only, etc... The Urban Flea Market is not responsible if you receive a parking ticket for any reason. 
  • Vendors cannot secure spaces or unload any items prior to your set-up time. Your vendor space will be assigned on a first come basis.
  • The Gateway is completely paved!  We recommend that you bring carts or dollies to transport your items to your space after you pulled up to unload.  Vendor spaces are within a reasonable distance from the loading zone but carts are highly recommended.
  • Please plan accordingly and bring carts, people to help, etc...

 

LOAD-OUT

  • The flea market ends at 4:00pm. Vendors must remain open until the market closes. Vendors must stop selling at 4:00pm. 
  • Vendors MUST pack up all items before pulling vehicles into loading zone. Do not take up a load-out space if you are not packed up and ready to load out.
  • Vehicles must display loading permit in front driver's side window
  • All items must be cleared by 5:45pm. All vendor items must be removed at the end of the market and spaces must be free of all trash. 
  • There will be a $25 fine for leaving late and/or leaving any garbage and items in your space after the market

 

VENDOR RULES & GUIDELINES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

  • The Urban Flea Market reserves the right to adjust/change vendor rules and guidelines at any time 
  • The Urban Flea Market reserves the right to adjust/change market buildings, market configuration and vendor space configuration at any time.
  • Vendors will be notified via email of changes.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE OPTIONS

The market will have water, coffee, soft drinks, snack items, and other necessities available for sale at a minimal price. 

You are welcome to bring your own breakfast and lunch. Local food trucks will be at the market during lunch time.

Alcohol is not allowed at the market.

 

UTAH STATE TAX INFORMATION & FORM

The State of Utah requires each vendor to submit a simple tax form to participate in any flea market, swap meet, fair or event where items are being sold. Each vendor space will need to provide a name, address, phone number, date of birth and one of the following: driver's license, state ID, state tax, tax exempt number or Social Security number. Tax forms will be supplied to each vendor at check-in. Each vendor is responsible for completing and submitting the provided tax form. If you are participating in more than one Urban Flea Market, you will only need to submit ONE tax form for all dates that you participate. The form includes due date information.

 

SIGNAGE & MARKETING MATERIALS

Any posters, banners, signs, tents, or distribution of marketing material promoting outside businesses, organizations, services and events is strictly prohibited and will only be available to official sponsors of the Urban Flea Market. There will be space available at the market information booth for outside event and business flyers. Please take any of these items to the information booth the morning of the market.
